Cryptopia Review

Cryptopia is an exchange based out of New Zealand. Cryptopia offers the widest range of cryptocurrencies of any exchange. If the altcoin isn’t listed there, you are unlikely to find it anywhere else.

However, Cryptopias software and customer service isn’t up to par with many of its competitors. That’s why a lot of traders use Cryptopia is an additional exchange to buy the lowcap coins they can’t find anywhere.

Cryptopia frequently delists altcoins as well as adding new ones so be careful and make sure that you withdraw your currencies and do not keep them on the exchange.

Their customer service is reportedly very slow, as many exchanges these days. This is because of the huge increase of users the exchanges have had in the last couple of months.

Cryptopia closed registrations because they were unable to handle the volumes of new users coming to the platform which shows that they are aware of the problem but it appears they are still lagging behind on customer service and communication.

Our general advice would be to use another exchange if possible, but if you can’t find the altcoins that you are looking for, Cryptopia is your best bet.

Fees & Deposit / Withdrawal Limits

There are no deposit fees. Withdrawal fees appear to vary depending on what altcoin you are withdrawing. Make sure to double check before withdrawing anything.

The withdrawal limit without verification is NZ$5000. With further verification Cryptopia allows withdrawals up to NZ$500 000.  

Security

As with any exchange there is a hack risk. Never keep more funds than absolutely necessary on an exchange. They offer a weak form of 2FA which is essentially a second password.

Overall security appears quite low.
